This month 50 years ago John Easter, Abbas Kaoud, Bryan Patterson and Ahmed Safwat played each other in the 1975 Patrick GB v Egypt circuit. A number of clubs hosted, with their histories being included in the programme, and reproduced here, along with the player biographies. (Featured clubs: Durham, Garforth, Stockton, Carlisle, Wolverhampton, Crawfordsburn, Newcastle, Chatham, Hull).

The programme for the December 1971 edition of the men’s British Amateur championship featured an article written by the late celebrated squash journalist Dicky Rutnagur (1971 pic), entitled ‘The Squash Boom’. It is very much a state of the game, detailing growth, the Barrington influence and how the newly installed glass backwall at Abbeydale Sports Club could be a game-changer.

At the beginning of 1988 ISPA (Men’s forerunner to PSA) surveyed their members on Point-a-rally, single serve, reducing to best of three games, ball changes and three referees. The full details are here.
